Next stop Documenta 14

My third Documenta visit. I was very excited about it but I have to say it was a disappointment. There was some good parts of course, but most of the time it felt like visiting a preparatory art school exhibition. Bad lightning and to little information didn't make it better. Add to that that Kassel might be the most grey and sad city in Europe. I think Documenta is a big event in Kassel so if it feels dead during I wonder how it is the rest of the time.... We left one day early. Here are some of the highlights though.

Starting with Agnes Denes, The living pyramid. Ibrahim Mahama. Parthenon of books, 100 000 banned books, Marta Minujin.

A roadtrip begins

It started with a ferry, from Sweden to Germany. It was surprisingly nice! Mostly truck drivers, soft, nicely designed for a ferry, a nice bar and since the boat was from Finland there was, of course, a sauna!

Visiting Violette

My mother lives in a caravan all year around. It's the big kind of caravan, with heated floor and a bathtub. It came pre-furnished, beige and fluffy with a fake fireplace, and she is very proud over how it all is designed. She has a wooden deck with spectacular view over a lake! I think it is like living in a very small village with all that comes with that, good and bad. A big difference though - it's crowded during summer and quite empty in winter time, I think there are around 6 other caravans that lives there all the time and also some that comes during weekends.

Second thoughts / trying to un-friend a crow

Outside my studio I can see animals. Mostly different kinds of birds, even rare ones, but also squirrels, hares and sometime even two foxes if I stay late. I started to throw pieces of my sandwich to the crows that hangs there. Very quickly they became less scared and it felt like they even waited for me to arrive in the mornings. So far so good.

After a while they started to demand food and their presence felt more like two vultures sitting outside waiting for me ;-) You know the sound of crows, it's not always a pleasant sound, one of them can sit for hours right outside my studio and do the worst sound. That's irritating enough, right. I stopped feeding them, also because my studio neighbors were complaining a bit about all the noice...

This is what meets me now every morning!
They tear apart my tiny garden! Nature huh! It makes me crayzy and angry, I have to clean up every morning and try to save some of the plants. Somehow I also like it, nature don't care and I can definitely not control it. I read that a crow can be 30 years old, so they have many years to get wise and to learn things... good and bad.

Went for a short trip to Copenhagen, to see the Kills at Vega and to see a bit of Copenhagen. It's been a while since I visited so it was of course a bit different... more trendy in a way. Well. It was a nice trip and the concert was great! Husky Loops was the supporting act and I liked them a lot too (not all of us did though :-).

A whole lotta holes

There is a lot of holes in my studio wall, I think it is time to fill the holes and cover it all with paint. A fresh start :-)

Dear Deborah :-)

Here's my day. I have a cold, this is the third day I'm at home. Today is the first day not spent in bed or in front of a tv-serie. It is lovely outside, you know those few lovely days in late spring when everything smells wonderful, the heat is perfect (IF the sun is shining that is) and everything is fresh. That is when I have a cold and am wishing for a cloudy day so I want miss it, spring.
I had my coffee outside my building, it might be the first time actually, because I usually go to my studio and sit outside in my "garden". After that I tried a bathing suit just to make it feel less awkward (no picture :-) still awkward. When I was in my wardrobe mess I spotted the rug I started a while ago and finished it. It's made out of old t-shirts and crocheted with the fingers. Now I only need a summer house to put it in...

So, what is it with the blogging? I'm not sure, I think there is many reasons why it doesn't come as easy as it used to. I've blogged since 2002/2003! Almost every day except weekends, and sometimes weekends too. It has been easy and fun all the way. All the way until a few years ago. One of the reason could be that I fell in love and got divorced and I couldn't write about it considering it concerned more people than myself. It was a totally crazy time. Also people that didn't like me or my blog read it and that restrained me unfortunately. It was a strange feeling, like someone visited your home when you weren't there - judging everything they could find. Another reason is that during that period I also lost contact with internet sort of, hard to explain. The short way - I stopped reading blogs and surfing around as I used to, and haven't since. I have two more reasons that I can think of right now - I don't carry around my camera any longer and the pictures from my phone isn't good enough most of the time - and last but maybe most - Instagram!

I miss it though and I haven't given up yet!

Here's a hug for you that are still visiting and an extra for Deborah that are even still commenting :-)
